TRHD Caffeinated Reindeer | 2019 Christmas Card Series | Dashing through the NO!

I created this fun card today with The Rabbit Hole Designs Caffeinated Reindeer. He has to be my favorite reindeer of all times. I am pretty sure Santa's chant needs to be changed to something along the lines of On Dasher, On Dancer, On Prancer and Vixen, On Comet, On Cupid, On Donner and Blitzen <---- maybe this is Blitzen?!? Maybe Santa had him along on these midnight rides the entire time!

I really let the papers and the image do the work. This paper by Pebbles coordinates with this image almost perfectly. This is from the Merry Little Christmas 6x6 pad.

The only thing I really did was piece the papers together and color this image. The card basically created itself. ;)

Well, maybe I helped a little with the heat embossing.

I couldn't resist using all three sentiments included in the stamp set.

Confused about why I named it all Delaney Jane Cards if my name is Renee’?
This entire thing, shop, YouTube channel, blog, etc, it is all named after our angel daughter who passed away in 2013. I made her some promises when she passed away. I would spread joy, I would make her proud and I would speak her name daily. This is one way we choose to honor her memory, and help me keep my promises.

Christmas Collaboration with Rise and Procraftinate -Christmas Series 2019

I'm honored to announce a beautiful collaboration today with Rise and Procraftinate. You can find her video and channel here: Rise and Procraftinate

We decided to simply create Christmas cards for today's collaboration. Both of us will have videos on our YouTube channels. Mine will be linked below.

I chose to create a card using Lawn Fawn stamps as a backdrop to this super sweet Neat & Tangled set.  I felt like the Lawn Fawn images were the perfect size for a student created backdrop for a Christmas Pageant.

I used my distress inks to ink blend the sky, shaded lilac, blueprint sketch and mermaid lagoon. I also used scattered straw to tap onto the moon but did go over it with a light yellow Copic Marker Y02.

By limiting the color pallet to those colors found on the Doodlebug patterned paper I used, the scene looks really cohesive. I copic colored all the pieces of the scene and die cut them. I stamped the trees with green inks instead of copic coloring. The Neat and Tangled images have coordinating dies but I do not own them so I fussy cut them out. Both images were really easy to trim out.

I picked a coordinating cardstock scrap from the scrap bin and heat embossed the Merry Christmas sentiment in white on it. I also stamped the We Wish You in black on the back of the same patterned paper I used for the main panel. Doodlebug papers are double sided and this pattern was clean enough to stamp directly onto it with no issue.

I love what the tiny details always do to a card. Adding white gel pen stars, Nuvo clear glitter overlay pen to the Santa and surrounding area to represent the magic of Christmas and making letting the two star players shine with a little shimmer of their own.

Beautiful Black, White & Silver Christmas Cards - Christmas Series 2019

I was able to play with Simon Says Stamp's Ornate Ornaments stamp set today and a simple color combo of black, white and silver. No, you don't need to adjust your color on your screen, these simply look like a black and white photo.

I chose to heat emboss the sentiment on this silver cardstock from Michael's. It held up ok but I wouldn't recommend it as a great cardstock for heat embossing. The top layer wanted to pucker in the heat.

I debossed the background panel with a Spellbinders embossing folder called laser beams. I just put the panel in so I would get an impression into the cardstock surface instead of a raised pattern. I thought this pattern resembled pine needles in a tree.

I stamped the images with Ink on 3 blackout detail ink and Copic colored them using my C Copic Markers. After completing the coloring I then stamped the outline images again in Versamark ink and heat embossed them with WOW Silver Sparkle Embossing Powder. This added so much to the images and really made them sparkle.

I used a single piece of 6x6 patterned paper from My Minds Eye to create all 6 cards. I cut the patterned paper into 1" strips, one for each panel. I framed the strip with some Love from Lizi black peel off stickers.

I framed the silver panels with black and white matted layers after adhering the ornaments and "hanging" them with black thread.

I finished the card panels off with glossy accents on the center ornament, a star shaped ornament. I really loved how it made that ornament stand out against the background and surrounding ornaments.

I really love how these turned out. Although, they took a bit longer than my normal card sets of 6, I think they are fairly easy to reproduce for cardmakers that want to make multiples.

Pink and Main Christmas Mug in Traditional Colors - Christmas Series 2019

I used Pink and Main's Christmas Mugs set once again. I wanted to show it with traditional Christmas colors this time.

I chose to highlight a single mug as my image instead of creating a masked scene or focal point.

I also combined two different paper pads for my patterned paper pallet <---say that three times fast!
Say Freeze by Recollections and Here Comes Santa by Photo Play

I did some fairly simple Copic coloring just leaving a center highlight on my mug and then adding fun white gel pen details once the image was colored.

I show how to use a piece of a die cut to get the label you want which can help stretch your supplies a bit. I also left in the fix for a tiny mistake that could have had me running to create a new focal panel for one of these 6 cards. Use an embellishment! Make it look intentional. Move on!  Some sound advice I wish someone would have given me a decade ago. I was always so sad when a mistake happened and I felt it wasn't perfect enough so I started over.

Festive Trees - Christmas Series 2019

I used the stamp set from Simon Says Stamp called Festive Trees. I may have stated it was a Stamptember 2018 release but I don't think it was.

I used the very graphic trees made with triangles on these cards as well as the festive Season's Greetings sentiment.

Pulling out a tried and true technique of emboss resist with watercolor, these cards turned out to be bright and cheery with a touch of gold sparkle to them. I used my Ganzi Tambi water color set and some real quick painting to create this set of 6.

Stamperia Make A Wish Angel - Christmas Series 2019

Today's cards feature a new to me company, Stamperia. I had never even heard of them when I ordered my set. And I'm likely to do similar when ordering. I love finding hidden gems amongst the big makers.

These stamps are made in Hungary and I find that to be super cool. The way the images are drawn also was a reason I purchased this set. I'd say, expect to see it a few more times this season at least somewhere because I can't be the only one who has fallen in love with this set.

I used my Peerless watercolors and some Peerless liquid to colors today's images as well as a special guest appearance by a very special embossing powder mix we lovingly refer to as Cooper's mix, mostly gold.

I created 6 cards because I'm a firm believer in cards coming as sets and I think 6 is a good quantity on a set of cards.

I used mostly colored cardstock in these cards but did use some patterned paper from the 12 days of Christmas pad by The Paper Studio. I think that is a Hobby Lobby brand. It has been with me a while.

If you'd like to see these cards be created you can find the video here: Delaney Jane Cards

Pink and Main Christmas Mugs - Christmas Series 2019

I used Pink and Main's Christmas Mugs stamp set to create a set of 6 Christmas cards featuring non-traditional colors of pink, purple and aqua with pops or red and green.

I featured their sparkle sheets and their patterned papers to create these adorable and sweet cards.

I'm also linking this to the 2019 Fall/ Winter Coffee Lovers Hop because... I mean, why not! <3
