August Release | 3 Unique Quick Cards | Joy Clair Designs

Hi Everyone, Renee' with Delaney Jane Cards Blog and YouTube channel. Today I'm part of a hop to showcase the newest release from Joy Clair Designs. I had the pleasure of working with one of the newest sets called Prized Life. I decided to do something a little non traditional and manipulate the images to work for me and my design. I also wanted to do minimal work to create maximum impact.

I printed the images onto some Tonic Studios Cobalt Velour Satin finish Cardstock using my Canon Laser Printer and I foiled the images. These images were manipulated and resized first using my Silhouette Software  and if I needed it, I used a program called paint.net and it can be downloaded for free at getpaint.net

I wanted three very quick cards so I focused on simplicity. The first card features an ink blended background and a cover die. The sentiment panel is popped up over the background and is simply foiled using my laminator and some deco foil.

The second card is simply foiled and layered onto a scalloped rectangle die and placed directly on the white cardbase. This frames the foiled image nicely. The bird nest image is the reason I picked this set and when I was working with it I wanted a bit more tree and branch around the nest, easily changed up in my free programs. I liked how this filled the panel a little more.

For the third card I also ink blended but I created my own patterned paper and then, you guessed it, foiled the background. I fussy cut the sentiment and two of the leave branches and popped them up on top of the card panel. All framed with a thin black border. I also added a few confetti to this panel for more interest.

Growing In Unity Day 5 | Creating a One Layer Collage Card

Hi Everyone, It's Renee' with Delaney Jane Cards YouTube and Blog. Today I'm sharing my day 5 project for my guesting week for Unity Stamps called Growing In Unity. I decided to use this fantastic stamp called Jo {Fashionista}

This is the stamp I won in October of 2013. This is the stamp that made me fall so deeply in love with Unity Stamps and this is the stamp that made me invested in them as a company. I couldn't believe someone would be so giving. Over the past almost 7 years, their giving has only increased.

I wanted some supporting images and a sentiment for this card and decided on Frankly Said {June 2015 Sentiment Kit}

I used several of my favorite techniques which include paper piecing and stenciling. I also needed to experiment with something I had seen on YouTube, alcohol inks on regular cardstock. I share all the details in my video for today.

Growing In Unity Day 4 | Cure Girls on Colored Cardstock

Hi Everyone, It's Renee' with Delaney Jane Cards YouTube and Blog. Today I'm sharing my day 4 project for my guesting week for Unity Stamps called Growing In Unity. I decided to use this fantastic stamp called Cure Girls. I've had this one for several years and I have made hundreds of cards with it from super simple to very intricate.

I sent cards of HOPE to cancer patients for several years and this one was the 5th card in the series I would send. It was never colored the same and I could personalize it for the person and the cancer, but I always sent this one.

Growing In Unity Day 2 | An Easy Way to Create Definition in an Image SOFTLY!

Hi Everyone! It's Renee' with Delaney Jane Cards Blog and YouTube Channel.

Today, I have my day 2 share of my Growing In Unity Guest Spot. I wanted to share a fairly quick project with you today using the Radiate The World Stamp set by Unity Stamp Co.

I heat embossed the globe in white onto some very light grey cardstock called Grout Gray by MFT. This is a super light neutral gray cardstock. The white is visible on the cardstock but it maintains a very soft delicate look.

Ink blending over the embossing with Speckled Egg Distress Ink by Ranger using a blending brush and adding stormy sky and faded jeans helped add a soft background to the embossed globe image.

I colored a few of the florals in with some Copic markers in a very simple color pallet, orange, pink and green for the foliage. Nothing special, just filled them in. Because this was done on the light gray cardstock the colors maintain a muted soft look.

This stencil by A Colorful Life Designs called Circular Motion Stencil was perfect to reinforce the radiating circular feel of the entire image and scene I was creating.  I used only the speckled egg to stencil this around the globe. I did it softly to maintain that really soft look.

The globe was still fading into the background a bit too much. Using the B90 series Copics, B99, 97, 95, and 93 along with the colorless blender, I added this glowing shadow or halo around the globe and in between the white embossed images. This gave the globe definition but kept the image very soft.

Creating an Interactive Tea Cup Card | Bilingual

Hi Everyone! Today I'm sharing a bilingual interactive tea themed card using CAS-ual Friday's stamp and die set

I used CAS-ual Friday's set called Serendipi-tea. ← not an affiliate link
My friend Cindy sent me this teapot and cups already stamped and die cut on mixed media paper. I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color them. They worked really well on that paper. I was surprised. I would recommend the blender pen to use with them but I cannot find it in stock. Here is a quick link to the markers if you decide you want to try them out Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers 48 ct

Bright bold coloring with Colored Pencils Featuring Joy Clair Cup of Joy

Hi Everyone,

Today, I wanted to share a card I made using Joy Clair's Cup of Joy Stamp set.

This stamp set is available in both a digital set and a physical set. One really cool thing about digital sets is the ability to resize images. Unlike a physical stamp, you can stretch and compress the images to fit your needs.

Image shows the Joy Clair Set titled Cup Of Joy. Features tea cups and floral images
I chose to color this image with my Prisma Color pencils.  I added shine with Glossy Accents and Silver Nuvo drops.

There was even a little texture tossed in with the bright bold yellow doily.

Celebrating Pattercraft's 500 Subscribers & Using Free Coloring Pages to Make Cards

Scrapping for Less has a team member that just reached 500 subscribers on their YouTube channel...Christine Patterson... Today we are celebrating her!

The theme to the hop was celebrate. I wanted to share how you can stretch your cardmaking options and include free kids coloring pages when you make cards. This is an easy way to make a themed card like I did here for this first birthday card.

I printed out a free kids coloring page of this Disney Tv show and ran it through my Silhouette software, resized it and cut it out. I colored this with my Copic markers and finished cutting it out with my scissors.

I used an embossing folder by Darice called clouds to emboss the background. Then I used a chalk marker by Zig to scribble over them, filled the rest of the clouds in with a white pencil. Then... I used a Marvy puffy marker to make those clouds all puffy and full of texture.

I thought that offered so much texture to this scene. I mounted the main image "Pip and Freddy" over top the sky. I die cut out the candle #1 and colored it with the same Copic markers and a sentiment from Mama Elephant on a little strip banner.

I tucked two additional clouds in the inside with an additional sentiment.  I really just wanted to remind you (and myself) that those free coloring pages you are printing out by the ream for your kids at home, you can use those to make cards too!

Christine is on the Scrapping For Less Design Team and Teresa, the owner of SFL has kindly offered a $50 gift certificate to SFL to one lucky winner in the YouTube video hop.

Inspired by Series | Lisa Mensing | Glowing Stencil background and white space within Copic coloring

In 2020 I started a series on this channel and I wanted to share who inspired me and how I use that inspiration in my craftroom.

Card features caffeinated honeybee with coffee mug on top of an ink blended hexagon background

I've featured four really wonderful artists so far in this series. I love to find inspiration in other creators. I watch YouTube videos as a second hobby, I think. I've watched lots of creators go from relatively unknown to I can't believe you aren't a subscriber known!

This month I wanted to focus on Lisa Mensing. I've been watching her since she started her channel and had the opportunity to meet her in The Collective Creators Group. She is featured on the Honey Bee Stamps Design Team and she posts videos often with tips, tricks and inspiration.

She has a way of making card making look so simple and easy. And the way she explains things make me think I can do all the things, she builds my card making courage, for sure.

I'd encourage you to check her out if you have not yet subscribed, I'd really encourage you to do so. She has a lot to teach.

Here is the link to the video I was inspired by and reference in the video: Simple Thank You Card featurign Copic coloring

Confused about why I named it all Delaney Jane Cards if my name is Renee’?

This entire thing, shop, YouTube channel, blog, etc, it is all named after our angel daughter who passed away in 2013. I made her some promises when she passed away. I would spread joy, I would make her proud and I would speak her name daily. This is one way we choose to honor her memory, and help me keep my promises. Thank you for stopping by, I really appreciate those of you that take the time out of your day to spend a little with me.

As I always say,Give Cards Generously,-Renee'

Joy Clair Designs | Spring Floral Basket | Feel Better

Hi Everyone and welcome to day two of the Joy Clair Designs May 2020 release hop. You should have come from the amazingly talented Donna Idlet and your next stop is equally talented Linda Gorman. Yesterday I featured another set, Cup of Joy. Today I wanted to focus on one of the images from the set Spring Floral Basket and make it a focal point.
Image includes several floral images including daffodile images and a feel better sentiment

I picked this daffodil image and made it as large as I could for this A2 size card panel.

I die cut the background panel using a Sunny Studios die and backed that purple panel with simple white cardstock. I felt like this was just enough detail for this beautiful floral.

The flowers were colored with Copic markers. I finished the card off with a wink of stella glitter pen over the yellow on the flowers.

I added some black thread and some black sequins. I really tried to make the flowers jump off the card front.

I'm excited to see what the other designers created for today. SO far, I've been so amazed with the creativity on this team.

This hop will have two winners, one will receive the fabulous set,
Walking on Sunshine Junkie Bunkie and Accessory ZIP Bag.to be combined with our regular prizes. from Simply Charming Everyday plus, a surprise package from Joy Clair Designs.

The second winner, will receive a gift card of $20 dollars valid for stamp only at Joy Clair Designs Store.

To be entered to win, all you need to do is hop along with us and comment on each blog. In other words, leave an original and creative comment and not simply "I liked, beautiful card, etc". Therefore, hoppers must comment on all stops along the way both days.

Comments are due by 05/6/2020 at 11:59 PM EST. Winner will be announced on the Joy Clair Designs Blog on 05/13/2020.  Best of luck to you all and remember, you need to leave original and creative comments!

Here is the full hop line up: (I'm so excited to see all the projects!)

I do have a process video up on my channel so you can watch me put this together!

Thank you for stopping by and as I always say,
