Growing In Unity Day 4 | Cure Girls on Colored Cardstock

Hi Everyone, It's Renee' with Delaney Jane Cards YouTube and Blog. Today I'm sharing my day 4 project for my guesting week for Unity Stamps called Growing In Unity. I decided to use this fantastic stamp called Cure Girls. I've had this one for several years and I have made hundreds of cards with it from super simple to very intricate.

I sent cards of HOPE to cancer patients for several years and this one was the 5th card in the series I would send. It was never colored the same and I could personalize it for the person and the cancer, but I always sent this one.

Growing In Unity Day 2 | An Easy Way to Create Definition in an Image SOFTLY!

Hi Everyone! It's Renee' with Delaney Jane Cards Blog and YouTube Channel.

Today, I have my day 2 share of my Growing In Unity Guest Spot. I wanted to share a fairly quick project with you today using the Radiate The World Stamp set by Unity Stamp Co.

I heat embossed the globe in white onto some very light grey cardstock called Grout Gray by MFT. This is a super light neutral gray cardstock. The white is visible on the cardstock but it maintains a very soft delicate look.

Ink blending over the embossing with Speckled Egg Distress Ink by Ranger using a blending brush and adding stormy sky and faded jeans helped add a soft background to the embossed globe image.

I colored a few of the florals in with some Copic markers in a very simple color pallet, orange, pink and green for the foliage. Nothing special, just filled them in. Because this was done on the light gray cardstock the colors maintain a muted soft look.

This stencil by A Colorful Life Designs called Circular Motion Stencil was perfect to reinforce the radiating circular feel of the entire image and scene I was creating.  I used only the speckled egg to stencil this around the globe. I did it softly to maintain that really soft look.

The globe was still fading into the background a bit too much. Using the B90 series Copics, B99, 97, 95, and 93 along with the colorless blender, I added this glowing shadow or halo around the globe and in between the white embossed images. This gave the globe definition but kept the image very soft.

Remember to leave me a comment below for a chance to win a prize from Unity Stamp Company. Hop over to my YouTube channel if you haven't been there yet and leave a comment there as well to increase your chances of winning!

COLLABORATION WITH RISE AND PROCRAFTINATE | USING BACKGROUNDS | REMEMBERING IT IS ONLY PAPER | DJC

I had the opportunity to collaborate with my favorite YouTuber. No offense to any other cardmakers or crafter creators but my friend Amanda at Rise and Procraftinate (my favorite YouTuber) and I are sort of in this YouTube journey together. We have decided to collaborate each month to challenge our own creativity but to also help inspire our viewers. If you haven't had the opportunity to check her out, I'd encourage you to do so: Rise and Procraftinate

What our collaboration for the month of January 2020 was, to create and send each other three backgrounds and to create cards with the items we received. You can watch the entire process video here: https://youtu.be/Hq_DkYhCudU

Let me say, Amanda and I have very different styles but this was the most fun I have had with some cards for quite some time. It was also one of the most challenging.

This first card was easy for me. The background was stunning with the saturated bold colors and the foil accents she added. So finding an image and coloring it to coordinate was super simple.

The second card was also easier for me. The background was heat embossed in gold and it had this super cool swirl pattern to it. I believe she used a marble stamp for this. I thought it looked like whatever this boy was checking out through his diploma.
This card threw me through a loop. She had created this super neat medallion in the center using a homemade stencil and some paints. I wanted to do this super neat technique where I trap the color under clear embossing. She recently did a video where she made a card for her GPA with this technique and I wanted to try it. In the process, I did not create a card that I was particularly fond of. But what I did create was a project with several bits and pieces that I do enjoy. This card is an example of it is just paper. If I screw up a project, it is just paper. it isn't even a whole sheet of paper, it is 1/4 of a sheet of paper. Doesn't seem like much now, does it?

FLORIDA THEMED CARDS | CREATING PERSONALIZED CHRISTMAS CARDS |USING LINE ART| CHRISTMAS CARD SERIES

I created 6 personalized Christmas cards for my Aunt and Uncle who live in Florida. The information I had was Florida themed and they like corvettes. Well, more than like Corvettes... but you get the picture.

The Corvette image is a free line art image from a site specializing in children's free coloring images. Take a look at what you can add to your creations.

I layered two tags on the lower corner of the card with so many details. A Florida, Vellum overlay, heat embossed sentiment, ribbon, thread... even some stitching detail.

The Santa image is from a Sunny Studio Stamp set recently included in a Scrapping for Less card kit. The bird stamp is from Victorine Originals now known as SumMore Fun Stamps. Ink blending, die cutting and some creativity created these adorable cards.

TRHD Caffeinated Reindeer | 2019 Christmas Card Series | Dashing through the NO!

I created this fun card today with The Rabbit Hole Designs Caffeinated Reindeer. He has to be my favorite reindeer of all times. I am pretty sure Santa's chant needs to be changed to something along the lines of On Dasher, On Dancer, On Prancer and Vixen, On Comet, On Cupid, On Donner and Blitzen <---- maybe this is Blitzen?!? Maybe Santa had him along on these midnight rides the entire time!

I really let the papers and the image do the work. This paper by Pebbles coordinates with this image almost perfectly. This is from the Merry Little Christmas 6x6 pad.

The only thing I really did was piece the papers together and color this image. The card basically created itself. ;)

Well, maybe I helped a little with the heat embossing.

I couldn't resist using all three sentiments included in the stamp set.

I will also have her linked below.

I was one of two guest designers for Scrapping For Less this month which means I had the pleasure of being able to unbox and play with the November Flavor of the Month Card Kit early. I'm sorry, but this is a secret I had such a hard time keeping. This kit was so amazing I wanted to share it with anyone who would listen and couldn't but TODAY IS THE DAY!

Before I share about the kit, I wanted to reshare the two cards I had the pleasure of creating for the Scrapping for Less Blog and Instagram.

The first was a Copic Colored and pattened paper card created with a Your Next Stamp, stamp. You can check out the blog post here if you've missed it: YNS Snowman

The second was a card made by using selective die cutting and a Prima Paper Pad and Kaisercraft Tags. You can check out the blog post here if you've missed it: Selective Die Cutting

Ok, back to the current kit~

I loved every single one of the kits this month. EVERY SINGLE ONE!  Each month the Big Picture is broken up into smaller components. Like a tasting menu. This kit is my absolute favorite I receive every month because of that, I get to try things I normally wouldn't buy or things I've never seen.

There is always an Ingredients sheet each month, available for download. It lists each of the items in each of the collections. Each collection is named now and that makes it really helpful Although, if you are like me, it sometimes is easier to just dump it all out on your desk and create!

Here is the ingredients sheet if you can't find it on the Scrapping for less site.

SFL (Scrapping For Less) also has a card sketch sheet available each month to download. Card sketches are a great way to get inspired when creating and I personally use them almost every single time I make a card. I don't always stick to the sketch but sometimes a little piece of it inspires me to get started. I'd encourage you to try a sketch if you are having trouble getting started.

I was able to create 12 cards with this kit and I have plenty of leftovers. I have two videos linked for these cards, one is a quick slideshow type video with an unboxing the other is a process video, grab a cup of your favorite drink for that one it is a long process video. :) Video links are below.

These two cards were created with Collection One, the Holly Berries Collection:

Both were Copic colored.. One features Masking and the other creating the illusion of a background with some simple colored strokes at the snow line.

These next two were created with Collection Two, A Vintage Christmas:

The first card is created with one of the wooden embellishments and some embossing powder. A quick way to make a very well put together card. The second card was created with the LDRS stamp in the kit and I used a combination of paper piecing and Copic Coloring to create it.

These next two were created with Collection Three, Santa:

This collection featured a stamp set by Your Next Stamp and I used it in both examples. The first is Copic colored and layered on some of the beautiful papers from this kit and includes some enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs and one of the decoupage sheets. The second card is created with the same stamp set but I paper pieced this to look like a vintage sign. Each piece is stamped on a different piece of paper from this kit and a sentiment is heat embossed on Santa's beard.

The next three cards were created with Collection Four, An Ornamental Christmas:

The first card was created with the stickers I received. It was a partial sheet so I think everyone will get different stickers. Mine were these trees. I stuck them down to some dark cardstock and used my Prismacolor colored pencils to color them. I created a simple layout with the patterned paper from the kit. The second card I used the beautiful ornament from the stamp set and colored it like a vintage silver bauble. I layered it on some of the beautiful papers. The third card I combined a few ornaments I had on my desk already colored and colored the giant ornament again in silver tones. I also masked and stamped and embossed a sentiment directly onto another of the large ornaments.

Scrapping For Less offers an extra each month they call the Banana Split. This is a extra pack of goodies which includes a stamp set and more. This month I used the extras to create three cards.

All three cards feature watercolor. The first two were created at the same time. Stamped using my Misti so they are identical. I wanted to show two very different ways to watercolor, very clean and traditional and one very messy but controlled. I'm not sure which one is my favorite because I love them both for different reasons. The third card was created with the distress crayon from the kit and the NOEL die. I die cut it from the watercolored panel and then inlaid the die in the opening. I used a piece of acetate to back it and this shaker is only one layer of foam tape thick. I felt like if I put less in the shaker I could make it thinner. I finished it off with a die from a previous kit (probably over a year ago) which is a spellbinders snowflake die. I felt like it was the perfect way to finish this off.

That is what I have to share for this beautiful and fun vintage themed kit.  I do have 2 videos for this kit. One is an unboxing and quick card share video, the other is a process video. You can find them here:

Christmas Collaboration with Rise and Procraftinate -Christmas Series 2019

I'm honored to announce a beautiful collaboration today with Rise and Procraftinate. You can find her video and channel here: Rise and Procraftinate

We decided to simply create Christmas cards for today's collaboration. Both of us will have videos on our YouTube channels. Mine will be linked below.

I chose to create a card using Lawn Fawn stamps as a backdrop to this super sweet Neat & Tangled set.  I felt like the Lawn Fawn images were the perfect size for a student created backdrop for a Christmas Pageant.

I used my distress inks to ink blend the sky, shaded lilac, blueprint sketch and mermaid lagoon. I also used scattered straw to tap onto the moon but did go over it with a light yellow Copic Marker Y02.

By limiting the color pallet to those colors found on the Doodlebug patterned paper I used, the scene looks really cohesive. I copic colored all the pieces of the scene and die cut them. I stamped the trees with green inks instead of copic coloring. The Neat and Tangled images have coordinating dies but I do not own them so I fussy cut them out. Both images were really easy to trim out.

I picked a coordinating cardstock scrap from the scrap bin and heat embossed the Merry Christmas sentiment in white on it. I also stamped the We Wish You in black on the back of the same patterned paper I used for the main panel. Doodlebug papers are double sided and this pattern was clean enough to stamp directly onto it with no issue.

I love what the tiny details always do to a card. Adding white gel pen stars, Nuvo clear glitter overlay pen to the Santa and surrounding area to represent the magic of Christmas and making letting the two star players shine with a little shimmer of their own.

Thank you for stopping by and as always, GIVE CARDS GENEROUSLY!
