Creating a Shaker inside a Shaker | #TeamTinyAllShookUp | Supporting Small Channels

Hi Everyone! Today, I'm participating in another Team Tiny Video Collaboration Hop. This month's theme was shaker cards. And I'm not the biggest shaker card fan for a couple reasons so I cheated and used a couple shaker card kits to create my card. I think my idea went much smoother in my head than it did in execution! Team Tiny is a collaboration of channels that are not monetized and have no ads. It gives you video after video after video. Simply type #teamtinyallshookup in the search bar on YouTube to find the other video participants.

Thank you for stopping by and as always,
Give Cards Generously!

A BRIDE'S BOUQUET | PICKET FENCE STUDIOS | ZIG CLEAN COLOR REAL BRUSH | CREATING A SHADOW | #DJC

I played with the new A Bride's Bouquet from Picket Fence Studios today. I used my zig clean color real brush markers to "watercolor" the image.

COLLABORATION WITH RISE AND PROCRAFTINATE | USING BACKGROUNDS | REMEMBERING IT IS ONLY PAPER | DJC

I had the opportunity to collaborate with my favorite YouTuber. No offense to any other cardmakers or crafter creators but my friend Amanda at Rise and Procraftinate (my favorite YouTuber) and I are sort of in this YouTube journey together. We have decided to collaborate each month to challenge our own creativity but to also help inspire our viewers. If you haven't had the opportunity to check her out, I'd encourage you to do so: Rise and Procraftinate

What our collaboration for the month of January 2020 was, to create and send each other three backgrounds and to create cards with the items we received. You can watch the entire process video here: https://youtu.be/Hq_DkYhCudU

Let me say, Amanda and I have very different styles but this was the most fun I have had with some cards for quite some time. It was also one of the most challenging.

This first card was easy for me. The background was stunning with the saturated bold colors and the foil accents she added. So finding an image and coloring it to coordinate was super simple.

The second card was also easier for me. The background was heat embossed in gold and it had this super cool swirl pattern to it. I believe she used a marble stamp for this. I thought it looked like whatever this boy was checking out through his diploma.
This card threw me through a loop. She had created this super neat medallion in the center using a homemade stencil and some paints. I wanted to do this super neat technique where I trap the color under clear embossing. She recently did a video where she made a card for her GPA with this technique and I wanted to try it. In the process, I did not create a card that I was particularly fond of. But what I did create was a project with several bits and pieces that I do enjoy. This card is an example of it is just paper. If I screw up a project, it is just paper. it isn't even a whole sheet of paper, it is 1/4 of a sheet of paper. Doesn't seem like much now, does it?

HOW TO | HONEY BEE STAMPS PRESENT BOX DIE | GIFT CARD HOLDER | How to assemble the new present box die

I ordered the new present box die from Honeybee during the black friday sale. I couldn't pass up the 25% off for dies like that!

I searched YouTube for a tutorial on the die. I had only seen Jennifer McGuire us it fairly quickly during one of her videos. I really wanted to take the time to show how this die works. Which is pretty genius by the way. Honeybee did a great job!

I do have a video Tutorial on my YouTube Channel but I know sometimes photo tutorials are easier to follow. So I'm going to try to show how to use this set. First, take all the pieces apart, use your snips or bend them back and forth to break them free from one another.

Here, you can see all the pieces for the present bow and the ribbon. There are two small rectangles, a larger rectangle, a bow tail die and a bow loop die.

I then die cut the pieces for the outside of the box from a coordinating cardstock. The rectangle with the metal down the center is the top of the box and the piece with the tabs is the side of the box.

You will need two pieces for the box. They do include a square die without the tabs. You can use that to decorate your box. I haven't tried to see if I could use it instead of a second box side but that might be a possibility.

This is the part of this die set that is genius. These two pieces create a pull out for the gift card that the gift card fits into.

I used removable tape to hold the pieces together. Make sure they are pretty secure. You need to die cut this piece 3 times from medium weight cardstock or 2 times from heavy weight cardstock. I did make this image larger so you could see how I have the pieces positioned. The smaller die is fairly tight to the one side of the rectangle.

Once you have your 2 or 3 pieces cut out (depending on your cardstock) then remove the inner die and die cut this panel as a whole panel. So you have 2 or 3 of the window looking pieces and one rectangle at this point. Stack the die cuts onto one another and then layer the finished piece onto the whole rectangle.

Once you have that piece assembled take the rectangle that has the score line down the center and adhere it to the "pull tab" . The way this hangs over the pull tab is why you need to put that smaller rectangle nearer the bottom rather than centered.

Then fold up your tabs on your box pieces, front and back, and apply the adhesive you love using most. I chose this double sided tape to adhere my pieces. I didn't want liquid glue oozing out but I'm sure you could use liquid. I think it would work if you were careful.

You can put the bow together at this point. There are two small rectangles, they are about the same size or are the same size. The only real difference is that one has 2 score lines on it. This is the piece for the bow. The other is for the ribbon on the top of the box.

The bow tail die is made for double sided cardstock and I used single sided so all I did was snip it at the fold like and adhere the pieces together with a small piece of double sided adhesive.

I slid the slider into the channel created on the box when it is put together and then lined up the "ribbon" on the top and bottom of the box. (The two rectangles one long, one short) Then I adhered the bow tails to the top of the box making sure that no adhesive went over the edge.

I adhered the bow to the center of the tails and that is the box. It took me about 26 minutes from opening the package to finishing my project which included separating all the dies.

One very nice thing about this finished present gift card holder is, it fits into an A2 sized envelope.

I'd love to know if this was helpful for you in the comments below.

Here are some others I made using this die.

GLIMMER CHRISTMAS TREE CARDS | GO PRESS AND FOIL SYSTEM | MASS PRODUCE | CHRISTMAS CARD SERIES 2019

I created several cards (12) with the Go Press and Foil System from Crafter's Companion. I've had this system for a while now and I've used it a few times. When Spellbinders moved a few months ago they had this gigantic sale and I picked up some new Hot Foil Stamps. One of which is this amazing tree and I planned on making a bunch of Christmas cards with it. Cooper (age 4) was my side kick for these cards and he helped me make them all. He loves to "Be Mommy" and make whatever I'm making too.

We share our process, the things that worked and what didn't. Because that is how crafting works in my craft room. We find what works through trial and error. The Go Press and Foil system is neat. It is all self contained. The plates are attached to the platform so I can't lose them. Which is HUGE! The platform is fed through a die cut machine, I have a Big Shot, and depending on the machine you may need more or less paper to shim your sandwich. I used printer paper cut to size and that worked well... after figuring out how much we needed.

I'm so glad to have you here today and I'd love to know if you have a foil system like this at home. Do you love it? Do you loath it? And do your kids love to help? FLORIDA THEMED CARDS | CREATING PERSONALIZED CHRISTMAS CARDS |USING LINE ART| CHRISTMAS CARD SERIES

I created 6 personalized Christmas cards for my Aunt and Uncle who live in Florida. The information I had was Florida themed and they like corvettes. Well, more than like Corvettes... but you get the picture.

The Corvette image is a free line art image from a site specializing in children's free coloring images. Take a look at what you can add to your creations.

I layered two tags on the lower corner of the card with so many details. A Florida, Vellum overlay, heat embossed sentiment, ribbon, thread... even some stitching detail.

The Santa image is from a Sunny Studio Stamp set recently included in a Scrapping for Less card kit. The bird stamp is from Victorine Originals now known as SumMore Fun Stamps. Ink blending, die cutting and some creativity created these adorable cards.

HEAT EMBOSSED SNOWFLAKES ON DARK CARDSTOCK | Christmas Series 2019 | Christmas Video Hop | SSS

****Christmas Series 2019****
I am part of the Christmas Video Hop which runs November 30th - December 7th. My channel is hosting a giveaway for a $10.00 USD gift card with Simon Says Stamp. This is one stop on the hop and many of the channels will have giveaways with their own terms so please listen closely as you watch each of the other videos for your chance to win. Here, on my channel, you must be a subscriber, you must like this video and leave a comment. My giveaway is open world wide but I would still like you to add your country to your comment. The winner will be announced 12/10/2019

You can see how these were made on my YouTube channel. I layered the heat embossed snowflakes and chose beautiful bright colors to emboss on this dark navy cardstock. I would recommend a thick cardstock for a technique like this because that is a lot of embossing.

The gold foiled paper on the edges really adds so much to this set of cards but the sparkle and shine of those snowflakes are just so pretty!

The next person in the hop is :  Rise and Procraftinate  https://youtu.be/Evu0nIbr2KA

You can find the entire lineup of participants in the Christmas Video Hop here at Monica Taylor's Blog here: Taylormadecards4u.com/blog

MIXING CARD KITS WITH STASH ITEMS | #TEAMTINYGRATEFUL HOP | Small Crafty YouTuber Collaboration

I am participating in the #Teamtinygrateful video hop today. This hop is a collaboration with several small YouTube content creators with less than 1000 subscribers. These channels have not met the requirements for monitization which is a bonus in this case, you can hop along with no ADS! Super fun for you!

All you have to do is click the hashtag #TeamTinyGrateful and a playlist should come up in your YouTube feed. Any and all of these videos are going to be worth the click. Try it and see. ;)

I used the newest Pink and Main crafty courtyard kit and a sentiment stamp from The Stamp Market to create this mash up card today to go with the theme of grateful.
