SFL Guest Spot Featuring Prima Paper and Gina Marie Design Dies - Christmas Series 2019

Hi Everyone This is Renee' with Delaney Jane Cards and I'm so excited to be on the Scrapping for Less blog today.
I created this beautifully inlaid card using a Gina Marie Designs Die called Christmas Candle A2 and some Prima Patterned Paper and some Kaisercraft tags. I wanted to create something unexpected with these items.

I picked through the patterned papers and selectively die cut small images for each of the spaces in the die.

The only place I used the same patterned paper was the flames and glow from the candles. I used this beautiful star design patterned paper which I added Darice Glitter Glue to for additional sparkle and shine.

I took the time to find red printed paper for the berries on the holly and this blue green colored paper used for the leaves was from one of the Kaisercraft tags I used.

I used Tonic Honey Gold Satin Cardstock to create the outline for this inlay. I also layered the internal pieces with brown cardstock to add dimension.

I added a simple sentiment from a Penny Black stamp set called Love & Peace. Simply white heat embossed on the same brown cardstock used as the under layer for each inlaid piece.

I absolutely love the details in this card. It wasn't a typical card for me but it was worth the time I put into it because it is beautiful. I think the gold border and the country style of the paper together really make a beautiful card. I'd highly recommend trying this combo.

I do have a process video up on my YouTube Channel  here: Delaney Jane Cards

Confused about why I named it all Delaney Jane Cards if my name is Renee’?
This entire thing, shop, YouTube channel, blog, etc, it is all named after our angel daughter who passed away in 2013. I made her some promises when she passed away. I would spread joy, I would make her proud and I would speak her name daily. This is one way we choose to honor her memory, and help me keep my promises.

Scrapping For Less Guest Spot featuring YNS and Echo Park - Christmas Series 2019

Hi Everyone, this is Renee' with Delaney Jane Cards and I'm so excited to be on the Scrapping for Less blog today. I am one of two guest designers this month and I cannot wait to share some fun things with everyone.
I created an adorable snowman Christmas card using Coffee Melt by YNS and Echo Park's My Favorite Christmas 6x6 pad. You can find both in the Scrapping for Less store.

I had some trouble with my colorless blender while coloring this image and wasn't sure I could salvage it so I had to find a solution. I colored the sky and used that same troublesome 0 Copic to add swirls to the color to camouflage my error.

Sometimes a simple creative solution can keep your project from getting tossed in the trash.

I really loved the color pallet this paper pad offered. It gave me a set of colors to use on this adorable melting snowman. I even got to use my favorite Copic YG17.

Your Next Stamp has some of the cutest sets and most include fun sentiments like this one. Life is too short for bad coffee.  It makes me giggle as this snowman melts for his love of the wonderful caffeinated goodness.  I figured the mug was supposed to be a snowman but I wanted to spread the green color around a bit more and made it green... another opportunity to use YG17. I have no clue why I like that color as much as I do, but I try to incorporate it in all my green combos.

I do have a process video up on my YouTube Channel  here: Delaney Jane Cards

A Fun Halloween Project 2019

Happy Halloween Crafty Friends!

Today I have this adorable Halloween project for you. I made some fun classroom gifts for my 4 year old's class with his help, of course.

He picked every single item, pattern papers, candy, the erasers and even the pencils. He is so proud that he got to pick all the details.

We even created some quick cards using the extras for his teachers.

To watch us put the little project together on YouTube, you can check it out here: Delaney Jane Cards

I colored the three main images using different colorways to coordinate with their pattern papers left from several coffee themed Scrapping for Less card kits. You can find out more details about their card kits here: Scrapping for Less Flavor of the Month

I show the coloring in this video which includes some new to me color combos.

Creating Two Cards One Stamp In Two Very Different Styles

I created two very different cards using the Trinity Stamps Thankful stamp set included in the Scrapping For Less Fall is Coming September 2019 Flavor of the Month Card Kit.

I wanted to step outside the box and play with my colored pencils and non traditional colors and coloring style for the first card. I even used the Ink on 3 Fade out ink for that design.

The second card I used my much more comfortable to me Copic markers and went with a more traditional color scheme.

If you'd like to watch these cards be created, you can click here for my YouTube channel: Delaney Jane Cards

I'd love to know what card is your favorite. What technique you prefer. Do you do this same type of coloring? These are two of 8 cards created with the SFL 2019 Flavor of the Month Fall is Coming Card kit. Look for previous posts and videos with the other 6 cards posted on my blog and YouTube channel.

All items were purchased with my own funds. This video / blog is not sponsored.
