This is my first blog for this week where I am the Growing In Unity Guest. I've had a long standing love affair with their red rubber stamps and I would 100% say my stamp collections largest category is Unity.
The last time I was able to participate in the GIU fun was in 2017. I was assigned a week in June and it happened to be the week my husband and I brought home our now 2 1/2 year old from the hospital. It was fun and busy. This time I don't have a newborn so I'm hoping it will be easier to carve out more time to interact with everyone. ;)
For this project,
I used the stamp set titled I Am Unicorn designed by Angie Blom.
You can find the set here: I Am Unicorn
I created 4 cards using this set. They all have the exact same layout, images, die cuts and embellishment mix but in the end I create 4 cards that feel very different.
An all aqua mane with these golden eyes on a sweet and dainty star background.
A gold and aqua mane with beautiful aqua eyes to coordinate with these more earth tone papers.
Gorgeous jewel toned mane in aqua, purple and yellow to coordinate with this super cute unicorn themed paper. This card has some super pretty holographic paper too!
And an aqua and purple mane to coordinate with the pure rainbow tones in the background papers.
You will notice not a single rainbow colored unicorn in the bunch ( I know, I couldn't believe it either!)
I finished each of the cards with the other part of the sentiment
Unity Stamp Co does this very cool thing each week where they give some of their awesome stamps away just for some comments... seriously! So, to participate, if you are here during the week of 10/21/2019 - 10/25/2019, just leave a comment, it is that simple.
To watch me make these cards, you can watch them be made on my YouTube channel by clicking here: Delaney Jane Cards
If you've made it this far, I'd love to know which one is your favorite?
All items were purchased with my own funds.
Confused about why I named it all Delaney Jane Cards if my
name is Renee’?
This entire thing, shop, YouTube channel, blog, etc, it is
all named after our angel daughter who passed away in 2013. I made her some
promises when she passed away. I would spread joy, I would make her proud and I
would speak her name daily. This is one way we choose to honor her memory, and
help me keep my promises.

Ohhh...i love this. This is amazing inspiration for this stamp. Will be referencing this later. Love the variations of mane coloring!
ReplyDeletethank you so much. I adore this stamp and loved the opportunity to share -Renee'
DeleteI love what you did with your unicorns. They always hold such possibilities creativity-wize. The top left is my favorite...
ReplyDeleteUnicorns can be anything they want to be ;) I usually color them in rainbow colors and thought I'd try something else for these. -Renee'
DeleteHow fun. It's always fun to use one stamp different ways. I like the last one best because I love stripes. They are all colored beautifully
ReplyDeleteThank you Janeen. Truthfully, I get bored. So if I make more than one card of any design, that usually tops out at 6 and I'm counting down the entire time because 6 is still too many of one color combo or layout or whatever, for my brain. ;) So making the same but different is so much fun for me. -Renee'
DeleteMy favorite is the one with the unicorn themed design paper. They are all lovely though. Congrats on being this week's GIU gal!
ReplyDeleteThat paper was a must with this stamp, for sure. It is so cute and fun. Thanks for stopping by! -Renee'
DeleteI love the way you used the different paper for all the cards making them feel different. I am sure your life is so much different than four years ago, so enjoy the ride and I am glad you still have time to craft.
ReplyDeletemy life sure is different now. I guess when I wrote that bio I forgot I did this in 2017 too, after my now 2 1/2 year old was born. Since the 2015 week I've added two more people to my list of people I have to care for, like a complete crazy person. lol. Anyway, the youngest is almost 6 months old and she lets me craft sometimes so I am taking full advantage of it and creating as much as possible. -Renee'
DeleteI love how you colored your cards. They are all pretty but I love the different colors on unicorns
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Pat, changing up just a little thing or two on any card sure makes such a difference. These cards sure show that, from bright and bold to muted. Making them made my crafter heart happy. -Renee'
DeleteBeautiful cards!! Now I need to add that set to my collection.
ReplyDeleteI love this set for encouragement cards but the addition of a happy birthday sentiment could be fun too. Just trying to help you justify you purchasing this adorable set ;)
DeleteToo cute! Love all the magical colors you used!
ReplyDeleteThanks, deep purple, aqua and gold are apparently my new favorite color combo. I was looking on pinterest last night for said combos... ;) -Renee'
DeleteDelaney, these cards are so soft, whimsical and happy. They are just beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Kathy, thank you for stopping by. I love how they turned out so much. -Renee'
DeleteWonderful coloring! I think my favorite is the one with the polka dotted paper! All are just so special!
ReplyDeleteIt is a toss up for me, for sure. I keep thinking I've decided on a favorite but then I love another one too. -Renee'
DeleteGorgeous cards! Love your coloring, Renee! Great paper choices... they compliment the unicorns perfectly!! Excited for your week!! ❤️
ReplyDeletethanks Crystal, when you "patterned paper" do you start with your image, color combo, or patterned paper first? I usually start by picking an image, then a card sketch then search through my patterned paper to pick my color pallet. -Renee'
DeleteI wish I had a system... lol! I often start with the image and if I think of it, I’ll look for a patterned paper, and then color using colors pulled from the paper. Typically, though, I pick the image, color it, and then panic trying to find the right paper. 🙂
DeleteI've seen your cards, whatever system you are using is a keeper. Always beautiful so don't change what works for you, that is for sure! -Renee'
DeleteBeautiful coloring. Thank you for inspiring us. Unity is the BEST
ReplyDeleteUnity is a great company. Tomorrow I have a post going up about how I fell in love with Unity and why. I'd encourage you to check it out. -Renee'
DeleteWhat great cards! I love all of them, but I think the one with the rainbow stripe background is my favorite. I'm looking forward to your GIU week.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for having the courage to pick a favorite! ;) And I'm so excited to share this week. Unity is one of my absolute favorite stamp companies for many reasons. -Renee'
DeleteThese are wonderful cards. I am loving the last one. I don’t have this set but I’m hoping to get into more children’s cards and this would be a great set to have. Thank you for sharing your talents and I am looking forward to this week.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jacque, I have given cards with this Unicorn to children and adults, everyone could use some unicorn magic... especially when it is drawn by Angie Blom! -Renee'
DeleteSo cute unicorn and lovely cards you have made.
ReplyDeletethank you Jorunn, I love this unicorn stamp set so much and it was fun to share. -Renee'

ReplyDeleteAwww, thanks Glennis, I appreciate you checking them out! -Renee'
DeleteThese are all so pretty!!!! I think I like the Polka Dot one the best, but it was a tough choice!!! Awesome how you used the same layout yet they all look so different!!!! and love the name, such a beautiful thing to do. I am sure Delaney Jane would be so very proud. (((((hugs))))
ReplyDeleteThank you Denise. Honoring Delaney in this way, sometimes has a negative reaction from others so I very much appreciate your comment. ♡ -Renee'
DeleteThese are all just fabulous and so pretty with how you colored the unicorns. As well as pretty papers; love the layers. I'm a purple kinda gal so I love those two the best. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThis was a very deep purple combo I don't reach for that often, I may have to do so more because I loved how it looked too. -Renee'
