Making Vintage Cards using PMS Peggy

This is my third post for my GIU week. If you are visiting the week of 10/21/2019- 10/25/2019 make sure to leave a comment on this post for a chance to win some goodies from Unity.

One of my first customer service experiences with Unity solidified my love affair with this company. I purchased a beautiful sentiment set called Lasting Thoughts, still sold to this day. It was a collaboration set Unity put together with several artists. And I was in love with the set. When it arrived I pulled apart my stamps and inspected them (you know, caressed them fondly because NEW STAMPS) and I found a defect in one of my stamps. I figured I'd have to just toss the stamp and I would just go without that one but decided to email Unity to see if there was a way they could fix it.
They, without hesitation, sent a replacement stamp. No real questions, lots of apologies and a new stamp. A small town company with huge customer service is one of the many reasons I keep going back. That and they have a sale all the stinking time.

For this project:
I used this stamp set: PMS Peggy
Designed by Joslyn Nielson

I also used this stamp set: Stinkin Cute Add-on

I created two vintage looking cards using this stamp set. She has a very vintage feel in the way Joslyn has drawn her. I paired the image with patterned papers from two paper pads to "set the scene" and create the vintage background.

I layered the patterned papers without matted layers because I think it feels more vintage this way.

And although PMS Peggy does come with some amazing snarky sentiments I decided to pull out a sentiment set for a sentiment befitting one of my favorite T.V. mom's Kitty Foreman.

Unity Stamp Co does this very cool thing each week where they give some of their awesome stamps away just for some comments... seriously! So, to participate, if you are here during the week of 10/21/2019 - 10/25/2019, just leave a comment, it is that simple.

To watch me make these cards, you can watch them be made on my YouTube channel by clicking here: Delaney Jane Cards

All items were purchased with my own funds.

Confused about why I named it all Delaney Jane Cards if my name is Renee’?
This entire thing, shop, YouTube channel, blog, etc, it is all named after our angel daughter who passed away in 2013. I made her some promises when she passed away. I would spread joy, I would make her proud and I would speak her name daily. This is one way we choose to honor her memory, and help me keep my promises.

PMS Peggy: Growing in Unity Day 4

Yesterday,  we played with heat embossing as a technique in a black and white color scheme. Today, I wanted to elaborate on the idea of a black and white focal image and colored patterned papers.

PMS Peggy

PMS Peggy has to be one of my favorite edgy Unity stamp sets. I was especially fond of this set while pregnant with our youngest. It always made me giggle. There are two additional sentiments in the kit, check it out by using the link below.

This card uses a fairly simple recipe and you get a nice eye catching card with little effort.

The green patterned papers are from a Michael's green paper 6x6 from the dollar bin and I paired it with a simple focal panel of Peggy, stamped in black ink. I colored the heart on her belt red for a little pop of color, but other than that, this is a very monochromatic card.
