Going Wild
The first is this adorable fall-esque card created with the Going Wild stamp set by yesterday's featured artist, Susan Weckesser. I stacked the cute animals on top of each other and used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color them to coordinate with this adorable patterned paper. A little Spectrum Noir Sparkle overlay and some glossy accents on the owl glasses and this image was complete.
I finished the inside of the card with a strip of leftover patterned paper and some leaves stamped on the edge.
This second card expands upon the ink smooshing from yesterday but I also added embossing paste and heat embossing to create this textured fun card. I even used some ribbon from my stash (GASP!)
Sorry Wine Does That
The texture is easier to see in this photo, it is basically a strip along the edge and just adds additional interest.

Susan knew what she was doing when she drew these critters, for sure!
DeleteI like both your cards. I always forget to use my ribbon. You have inspired me to try to remember because yours adds a lot to the card. Thanks for all the good ideas.
ReplyDeleteI hardly use ribbon or washi tape... I'm working on that though
DeleteI love when you use ribbon and the textures it gives the cards something new!
ReplyDeleteI love it too!
DeleteI thought I was the only one who hoarded my ribbon stash! Love your work these are beautiful cards!

DeleteBoth cards are great! I especially liked the fox and owl card. Who would have thought orange and turquoise would look so amazing together - but you did it! I too am a ribbon hoarder... it is hard to come out of Michael's or a dollar store without a least one spool. Thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeletethose were not colors I would normally pair, but they are striking. Probably because they are complimentary colors, but I'll say the paper dictated the color combo
DeleteYour first card ... I adore! I love owls & he's so handsome! And that fox is pretty darned cute!!
ReplyDeleteAnd love both the color & all the lovely texture on your 2nd card.
The first one sure is fun! thanks for stopping by
DeleteBoth are cute and I like how you made the inside of the first card special too. I have been trying to do that more (along with using up my stash).
ReplyDeleteI try to finish most of the insides of my cards, even if it is just stamping the image again in a light ink. It makes a big difference.
DeleteI really love the patterned papers you used in your first card. I am always reaching for my DP and never make a card without some! Your second card is very pretty too.
ReplyDeleteI try to use DP on most cards. I found a few ladies on youtube that are experts and I'm trying to up my DP game!
DeleteAwesome cards, the paper colors are perfect for the colored owl & fox!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I thought they looked like fall critters and needed a fall color scheme
