I jumped on the planner bandwagon this year and so far, so good. I have a fairly busy life with three boys at home and starting a small business and getting healthier with a workout routine, life is busy.

I came across this cute stamp set that A Muse Studio has and thought I needed to add that to my planner to make it more fun to keep track of all the boring things in my life. ;)

I will link to my A Muse Studio store below but I wanted you to know it is easiest to just search for this set.  There is a stamp set and matching die set.

So here is what comes in the set, two sheets of stamps and then the dies come attached but are easily cut apart.

These were the stamps and dies that I decided to use. (I did add the thumbs up to note Facebook posts later on)

I stamped and colored several of the dumbbells and a few grocery carts. What I didn't use for this week, I tucked away in the stamp case for the next week. TIP: use a little bit of washi tape to hold the die to paper so it doesn't slide out of place while die cutting.

 I use the workout stamp to notate my cardio days, the dumbbells to notate my sculpt / strength days. The grocery cart to notate the day I go grocery shopping. The thumbs up is for my Facebook posts. I also blog on Wednesday and Friday so that will get written below. I titled the column where I will keep the grocery list for the week. The top boxes I use for my personal things, the middle row for business related things and the bottom is for kid related things. This seems to work for me.

Hey Cupcake

Hey Cupcake!

I wanted to focus this blog post on making two entirely different cards from the same stamp set, using the same papers. Is that even possible? ABSOLUTELY! Stamping is super versatile and you can really show your personal style through your own card making. 

I made two cards using the stamp set Hey Cupcake. I've had this set for a few years and it is still available in the inspiration guide.  

I used the same papers, mermaid small dot, kraft and sugar. I used the same markers, one used much simpler coloring  than the other. I used the same die. And actually used what many would discard to create the card above. 

This is the hey cupcake stamp set from A Muse Studio. There are 11 cling mount stamps inside a cd type case.

To create this cute card, I first die cut the sugar card stock with the stitched edge die from the Tag Bundle die set. The kraft was the outside frame left over from die cutting the pinked edge die panel for the second card I will show at the end of this blog post. On the sugar panel I stamped the frosting in Bubblegum pigment ink.

Then I stamped the outlined image on some scrap paper and cut it out to use as a mask to cover this cute sugary confection.

See, I really used scrap paper, there are all sorts of things on this paper. It just sits on there, no need for sticky anything since I was stamping straight down and there wasn't going to be any ink blending or anything like that.

This is one of the great things about A Muse Studio stamps. That image is printed right on the cling foam. No sticker or label, it is printed right on there. So, now I get the freedom a clear stamp would offer but that crisp image from a rubber image.

Once I had the cupcake stamped I was able to remove the mask and color the image.

I wanted to keep it super simple so I didn't even do any shading. Just one color for the cupcake and another for the wrapper. I stamped a sentiment from the set in Versafine Onyx Black ink and the main panel was complete.

I set the main panel aside and created the card base. I cut a single sheet of Mermaid polka dot card stock in half lengthwise. I was able to create two top folding cards. TIP: One trick with white core card stock is to crease and fold your card stock the white side out first. Use your bone folder to make a super crisp fold. 

 Then fold it the opposite way. No breaking of the paper fibers, no wonky fold lines, just a crisp clean fold.

After creating the card base, it was time to assemble. I gathered all the pieces I would need. The left over frame from cutting a kraft panel for card number two, the card base, and the card front main panel. 

I used Tombow Mono Multi Adhesive to adhere the layers together. Then stamped some cuteness on the inside. A simple Happy Birthday finishes off the inside of the card.

For the second card made with the same supplies:

I used the center from the pinked die cut as the main panel. I stamped the cupcake, frosting and cherry onto sugar card stock and colored them with Copic markers. I fussy cut them, used a Tombow N55 marker to color the edges of the white card stock for a more finished look and stamped the sentiment.

Go Get it Girl

Today, I wanted to make a card for a good friend who just started her personal training business. She has had 5 kids and her most recent was two months ago. She is amazing, heart and soul. So to honor her and the friendship we have, I made this beautiful card for her.


I played with several products from different companies. I absolutely love doing that. This card is simple with no extra embellishments. I just love how the colored image and the sentiment are the only thing needed on this main panel.

I used paper from this adorable Let's Polka in the Dark pack from Lawn Fawn. How cute are those hearts?!?

And the image and sentiment are from this Go Get It Girl set from Unity Stamp Company. 

I used some A Muse Studio Paper products to finish the card, card stock and die. Oh, and some simple Copic coloring.

I sure hope my friends likes this one as much as I do.

Oh how cute is this quick card? The thing that took the longest was dry time, and you could speed that up with a heat tool. Let me show you how this adorable, bright, fun card for a friend was made.

Yep, this is how it started. The 4x4 block with water painted on the surface. I used the Splash colors to drop color into the beaded up water. First, Marigold and then Blush. I just unscrewed the top and used the inner straw to put color where I wanted it. I could have sprayed it on the block as well.

 Then I applied sugar card stock to the colored water (peerless water color paper may have worked better as I did end up with a little warping) I rolled it from one side of the block to the other.

And when it came off, it was light and splotchy and I honestly almost threw it away. But I pressed on. ;)   I decided the paper needed more texture so I used each of the colors and added splotches of color by tapping the inner straw with my finger while holding it over the paper.  I did the Blush first and then the Marigold.  Then I set the piece to the side to dry and moved on to the next step.

I die cut the word hi several times from a strip of sugar card stock. 

Then layered 5 of them together with the Quickie Glue Pen. I added dimension by using a Tombow N55 marker to color the edges.

I topped the stack off with the last die cut so the face of the word is really clean and clear.

I cut and folded a piece of Bubblegum Card stock into a standard A2 size card. 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/2. I stamped the sentiment in the lower right corner. 

Then I cut the piece of card stock I had smooshed color all over, into an asymmetrical shape and applied it to the front of the card. ( I did peel the top of this layer up later to add ribbon... hindsight)

I adhered the die cut to the card using the Quickie Glue Pen. See how much dimension is created with stacking those dies and coloring the edges? And it travels through the mail really well this way.  I added a Twinkle Sticker for the dot on the i, instead of the die cut one. I thought any friend of mine would deserve a little twinkle.

At this point I realized I wanted to add a little ribbon. So I carefully peeled back the top of that panel and attached a piece of ribbon. Then using a separate piece of ribbon to tie a cute little bow. 

This completes my card for today. It probably took me longer to write this all out than it did to make it. ;) Supply list below.

Thanks for being so Sweet

Oh my gosh, I know you looked at the calendar and realized Valentine's day is in less than a month. So that means valentines in pink and purple and candy and chocolate! I decided to make today's card using this incredibly cute donut image from the Sprinkled with love set. There are matching dies but I chose to fussy cut the image out for this card.

 This is the card I made for today. Super cute right? Lots of sparkle and pink and something sweet.

Here is how I made it. Again, I concentrated on the coloring aspect because that is my thing.

 To get started I pulled out all the goodies. Memento Tuxedo black ink. Stamps are attached to blocks, glitter is at the ready and so is the cool quickie glue pen. I had foam adhesive squares and bubblegum pink ink (not pictured) ready to go too.

My first step was to stamp this adorable donut image from Sprinkled with Love onto sugar card stock with the Memento ink.

Then I stamped this background image from Welcome to the Neighborhood onto a card base made of sugar card stock with bubblegum ink.

Cute huh?

I went ahead and stamped the sentiment below this with Memento ink. I could have used onyx ink but since I already had the Memento out, I just used that.

Then I started coloring. I just did a single color on this little band of the actual cake part of the donut. E57 (light walnut) worked just fine for this.

The frosting needs to be pink. I said we were making a Valentine's card after-all. So I started with RV10 (pale pink), as a base color.

Added RV11 (pink) to the edges where the donut would be rounded. It is a very close in color but it helps build depth.

I added the darkest shade RV13 (tender pink) on the edges. (I did end up putting some near the center donut hole too and that is more noticeable in the finished image)

After blending it all out and fussy cutting the image I used my W6 (warm grey no.6) to color the edges of the sugar card stock. This gives a real nice finished look to the image.

And onto the sparkle! I thought this donut needed to be glittery. I used the Quickie Glue pen to draw glue onto the image in those white stripes.

One really nice thing about this Quickie Glue pen is that it goes on blue but dries clear. Never miss a spot again with this bad boy.

And add sparkle. This Diamond glitter is gorgeous. I dumped it over the image.

Then shook it off and tapped it against the paper using my angled tweezers, who wants glitter all over their fingers. Definitely not me! See the sparkle? It is so pretty.

I attached the donut to the center of the background image using foam adhesive squares.

See, not too thick to go through the mail.

And there we have it. A super easy and quick card that will make someone's day. I know I'd love to received this in the mail.
